In August 2026, I stayed at Hilton Garden Inn Kyoto Shijo Karasuma, so I would like to introduce it. It is a lower-priced brand within the Hilton portfolio, and this property marks Hilton Garden Inn’s very first location in Japan.

The hotel is located along Karasuma-dori, a major avenue running vertically through central Kyoto, between Shijo-dori and Gojo-dori. The nearest station, Subway Shijo Station (Hankyu Karasuma Station), offers convenient access to all parts of Kyoto. Subway Gojo Station is also nearby, which is just one stop away from Kyoto Station.

As soon as you enter the building, you will find the front desk. There is a complimentary coffee server near the front desk. Additionally, during check-in hours, a welcome drink service was available near the entrance of the restaurant. There is also a shop next to the front desk where you can buy light snacks, drinks, and souvenirs.

There are 7 room types. This time, I stayed in the Family Room. Deluxe rooms, Superior Family Rooms, and higher-tier rooms feature separate bathrooms with a washing area.

After checking in, I headed to the room. On the wall of the elevator lobby on the 1st floor, there was a large pine tree monument.
This time, I got a corner room on the north side. It seems there are two sizes for the family rooms, and I got the larger one this time. Since the larger rooms are likely limited in number, it really depends on luck.

By the way, here is what the Superior Room I stayed in previously looks like.
Breakfast is served in a buffet style at ‘Together & Co.’ on the 1st floor.

There weren’t many Kyoto-style menu items, but the space is spacious with plenty of seating, allowing me to enjoy breakfast comfortably.
This stay was made even more special by experiencing it as a Hilton Honors Diamond member!
Welcome Drink
There was a drink service at ‘Together & Co.’ (including juices, coffee, beer, wine, etc.).
Complimentary Breakfast
Breakfast became free for up to 2 guests!
(As of August 2026)
Total Review
The hotel is still newly opened and extremely clean. I think it is a very good hotel for sightseeing in Kyoto.
