Canopy by Hilton Osaka Umeda

In July 2026, I stayed at Canopy by Hilton Osaka Umeda, and I would like to introduce it to you. This is a new hotel located in a section of the Umekita redevelopment area on the north side of Osaka Station. Situated in an area with a beautifully planned cityscape resulting from the redevelopment, the hotel offers views of the stunning scenery of the urban park, Umekita Park.

The main entrance is located on the 2nd floor of the Grand Green Osaka North Building. Behind the sign shown in the photo is the hotel’s cafe, “Bean there, UMEDA.”

From Osaka Station, we recommend walking through “Umekita Park” to get there. (On rainy days, you can access the hotel almost completely dry from the station by taking the pedestrian walkway on the 2nd floor of the Grand Front Osaka North Building.)

Enter the building and take the elevator to the lobby. The lighting here is said to be inspired by Osaka’s famous “takoyaki” (octopus dumplings), with the pipes on the left and right representing “toothpicks.”

By the way, Canopy is positioned roughly between Conrad and Hilton within Hilton’s brand hierarchy. Across Umekita Park on the Osaka Station side, the highest-tier brand, Waldorf Astoria Osaka, has also opened.

When the elevator doors open on the lobby floor, an artwork of someone holding various plants in their arms welcomes you. It is said to express the spirit of Osaka, which embraces diverse personalities, and the seesaw in the foreground is modeled after the railway sleepers from the freight station that originally stood in this location.

If you turn left after viewing this artwork, you will find the front desk. (The restaurant and bar are on the right.)

There are 7 room types. The “Suite” and “Premium” rooms come with a bathtub, while the “Canopy” rooms (excluding suites) do not have bathtubs (shower only). The “View Rooms” offer a park view facing the Osaka Station side.

Rooms from the “Canopy View Room” and above are recommended.

I stayed in the Canopy Corner Suite this time. The corner suites are located on all four corners of each floor. This time, I was in the northwest corner room, which offered views of the Yodogawa River, the sunset, and the Umeda Sky Building.

Here is what the view from the room looks like ↓

A newly built high-rise apartment building stands on the north side, so looking further to the right than in the photo above feels a bit disappointing. Even so, the view toward the Yodogawa River stretches far into the distance, providing a great sense of openness.

You can also enjoy the scenery in the directions of the Umeda Sky Building and Umekita Park.

Rooms on the south side (facing Osaka Station) offer a park view. However, because Grand Front Osaka sits on the southeast side, the southwest side would be the better choice if you are staying on the south side.

The room features separate bedroom and living room areas, with a television in each.

The bathroom comes equipped with a bathtub, the vanity has double sinks, and the restroom is spacious, making for a very comfortable stay.

Breakfast is served buffet-style at CC: CARBON COPY.

They feature a variety of Osaka-inspired dishes, including yakisoba, udon noodles, okonomiyaki-style omelets, and local specialties like mix juice.

This stay was made even more special by experiencing it as a Hilton Honors Diamond member!

Total Review

Despite its exceptional location just a short walk from Osaka Station, the interior was remarkably quiet and comfortable. Not only are the facilities brand new and pristine, but the stylish interior design also instantly lifts your spirits just being in the space.

Furthermore, the windows open up to expansive views of the Osaka cityscape and the park, allowing you to enjoy wonderful scenery both day and night. I was thoroughly satisfied with everything—the location, the design, and the views.
